The Rancho Family YMCA – which serves the 4S Ranch neighborhood and surrounding areas – has an “Active Adult” event planned in January, certain to be of significant interest to local residents:  A chance to catch a performance of “Steel Magnolias” at the Welk Theatre.

Starring former Olympian and renowned Broadway actress Cathy Rigby, “Steel Magnolias” is based on the highly acclaimed motion picture by the same name.  The YMCA excursion is scheduled for Jan. 20 for the 1 p.m. curtain call.

A $65 fee for members ($75 fee for participants) includes transportation, theater admission, and a brunch buffet at Canyon Grill.  Registration deadline for the event is Jan. 15.  More information on the event and other similar activities is available at the YMCA’s website, rancho.ymca.org – or by calling (858) 484-8788.
