City of Poway officials are seeking volunteers as quickly as possible today to fill sandbags to save houses in the community from flooding.

According to Poway City Councilmember Merrilee Boyack, five houses have already flooded and more houses are threatened. “Trees are down, power lines are down, and we’ve got hillsides moving,” Boyack said in an email to constituents. “We need your help!”

Volunteers are needed beginning this morning at 12335 Crosswaite Circle (in the Business Park) to fill sandbags, and are asked to bring a shovel if possible.
