Congratulations to Rancho Peñasquitos’ All-Stars

Baseball and softball season may have drawn to a close for the summer for most Little League teams around the county, but the All-Star teams of Rancho Peñasquitos Little League (RPLL) and PQ Girls Softball Association (PQGSA) are fighting strong to the finish.

PQGSA had eight All-Star teams this season – four PQ Lightning teams and four PQ Thunder and Bolts teams. Scott Ward, President of PQGSA, was proud to find that all four of the PQ Lightning Teams qualified for the State championship. “PQGSA has never sent all four teams to State at the same time like this, so that’s a huge accomplishment for our league this year!” said Scott. When it came time for the next level, the 10U Lightning team qualified for Nationals in Roseville, CA. “That’s the equivalent to the Little League World Series for boys’ baseball,” Scott explained.

RPLL’s All-Stars had their own share of glory as well. Colin Stowell, President of RPLL, proudly told us that the 9/10 National All-Star team had recently advanced beyond their district to compete in the Section 6 All-Star Tournament. Colin shared, “It is quite an accomplishment to win the entire District 32 tournament and now represent RPLL in the next round of play.” The Intermediate National League team fought their way to an impressive championship game, and the 9U All-Star Tournament team dominated their division in the Scripps Ranch All-Star Tournament this past June.

Fall Ball registration for RPLL and Winter Ball registration for PQGSA both begin this August. You can find out more information at or
