Inspired by a desire to see the world, 92129 native Didier Jourdain, along with Kyla McClure, began a yearlong bike tour to hit 36 countries and 22,000 miles in Lisbon, Portugal in May of last year. Both Kyla and Didier had recently completed their undergraduate studies and wanted to experience firsthand how people in other parts of the world live. Kyla commented, “What better way to see the world than on a bicycle? Traveling by bike allows you to slow down and speak to people.”

The journey served as a way to raise money for two charitable organizations that are close to their hearts: Helping Honduras Kids and One World Youth Project. Didier and Kyla describe their experiences on their blog at, where they are also collecting donations which will go directly to the two organizations. “Every donation that comes in inspires us to push that much further each day. It isn’t always easy traveling but it is usually worth it,” they said.
