The RB Chorale presented its 43rd Anniversary Show, Showstoppers from Stage & Screen, this month. The highlight of the two-night event was the competition by the finalists of the Chorale’s annual scholarship auditions. These six graduating high school seniors from across San Diego County were chosen from a slate of 13 multi-talented teens. Besides being musicians of great promise, all six have achieved many significant honors and awards during the school years, and are active volunteers in their local community.

Among the finalists was PQ local saxophonist Nicholas Hoo of Westview High School. In addition to the saxophone, he plays the piano and sings. Nick plans to attend San Diego State University to major in music entrepreneurship and business, and in his spare time volunteers at four local retirement homes, bringing the joy of music to others.
