Last Call for PQ Student Writers!
The deadline for entry of the 4th Annual Growing Up PQ Essay Contest is Nov. 9. The contest is presented by the Rancho Peñasquitos Town Council (RPTC), in partnership with 92129 Magazine. The RPTC invites elementary, middle, and high school students to submit essays reflecting on the theme “PQ Youth Civic Engagement!” Qualified entries will be 100 to 500 words in length, describe one specific civic engagement experience, and discuss its personal significance along with how it makes PQ a better place to call home. Three winning essays – one from each school level – will be chosen and printed in an upcoming issue of 92129 Magazine, as well as on the RPTC’s website. The three winning authors will receive cash prizes at the $25, $50, and $100 levels for winning elementary, middle, and high school students, respectively. All entries must include the author’s name, email address, grade level, and school. Email entries and questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
