AAUW Poway-Peñasquitos Branch has two exciting upcoming events. The first is Future Planning: Staying Safe and Comfortable in Your Home. Caryn Leventhal, a dedicated senior specialist with 25 years of experience working with seniors, will be the speaker. She is a licensed general contractor with a special certification in Aging in Place from the National Association of Home Builders. The public is invited to this presentation on Thursday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. in the Poway Library Community Meeting Room, 13137 Poway Rd.

The second is the branch’s 20th Annual Cover to Cover Author Luncheon on Saturday, May 13 at Maderas Golf Club, 17750 Old Coach Rd. Cover to Cover is the major fundraiser for AAUW Poway-Peñasquitos Branch with proceeds used to sponsor local eighth grade girls who wish to attend Tech Trek Science and Math Camp and to provide scholarship money to local women re-entering college. The day will include author presentations and book signings, opportunity baskets, a silent auction, and the luncheon. Authors this year are Jill G. Hall (The Black Velvet Coat), Aline Ohanesian (Orhan’s Inheritance), and Ona Russell (Rule of Capture). Tickets are $50 per person and reservations will be available beginning April 1.
