Sharing Creativity

92129 resident and artist Mindy Kral recently exhibited her art locally for the first time. She was one of three local artists displaying and selling work at a pop-up shop in Little Dame, an alternative retail and art space in North Park. It was a lively evening, packed with visitors enjoying the art and refreshments. “It was so much fun, and a great opportunity to share my work with my friends, family, and art enthusiasts!” Mindy shared. “I’m very grateful to Little Dame’s co-owners, Katie and Simone, for displaying my art. Their shop is such a cool and creative space.”

Mindy graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, but she works in a wide variety of mediums, including oil paintings, ceramic sculptures, etchings, and digital art. “My pieces for this show were mostly ceramics, including a selection of fox skulls, an armadillo-shaped jar, and faux taxidermy creatures,” she explained.

Themes of nature and a blend of wilderness and urban life are common threads in her artistic explorations. “I’m fascinated by the natural world, and the ways people relate to and differ from other animals,” she said. “My work often depicts animals and environments that reflect aspects of human nature.”

She currently works at Painting with a Twist in Rancho Bernardo. Learn more about Mindy and her work at www.mindykral.com.
