A group of girls from Sundance Elementary School, self-titled the Sundance Intelligence Agency, empowers girls through homework and studying. The all-girl group, which began three years ago so the students could do homework after school together, now meets weekly and often holds lemonade stand fundraisers at a local park to buy school supplies and other equipment to test their math and science concepts.

As each girl finishes her own homework, they help those who might still be struggling to finish. Girls in the group are top academic performers in the Poway Unified School District – some have even gone on to earn local, state, and federal recognition for their work. The group will also be attending a special recognition luncheon at the University of California San Diego later this year. Living by their motto to “never leave a girl behind,” Sundance Intelligence Agency is building confidence and shaping young leaders right here in 92129.
