Seven PQ Schools Named to California Honor Roll
Eleven Poway Unified School District (PUSD) schools have been named 2017-2018 California Honor Roll schools, including 92129’s Canyon View Elementary, Los Peñasquitos Elementary, Rolling Hills Elementary, Sundance Elementary, Sunset Hills Elementary, Mesa Verde Middle, and Mt. Carmel High Schools. Other PUSD schools honored were Garden Road Elementary, Midland Elementary, Westwood Elementary, and Rancho Bernardo High Schools.
The Honor Roll is presented by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), and recognizes public elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. For high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes high levels of college readiness in students. “I am extremely proud of the success of these schools in achieving our district’s mission of college and career readiness,” said PUSD Superintendent Marian Kim-Phelps. “It is a system-wide effort, K through 12. Our teachers, staff, administrators, and parents should be commended on their ongoing work to close the achievement gap and provide equitable access to a top-notch education.”
ERP is a nonprofit organization that works with foundations, school districts, other nonprofit organizations, and businesses to improve educational productivity along the education-to-workforce pipeline. For more information visit www.edresults.org.
