Community Volunteers

Each year the Rancho Peñasquitos Town Council (RPTC) presents a Volunteer of the Year Award to an outstanding community volunteer and Youth Community Service Awards to local students whose volunteer efforts benefit their school and the community. This year’s awardees were recognized with special certificates at the annual PQ Fiesta in May.

Since 2009, Joe has volunteered as a coach and served in various other roles with the Rancho Family YMCA, PQ Rec Soccer, Rancho Peñasquitos Pop Warner, PQ Girls Softball Association, and Rancho Peñasquitos Little League. He is currently a board member of Rancho Peñasquitos Basketball, trains and coaches a travel baseball team for HBA Sports Academy, and volunteers for NFL Flag Football in Poway. He also helps with the October Festival and Winter Wonderland each year. Joe has three children – Javier, Alyssa, and Joseph – and enjoys being a positive role model to boys and girls in the community.
