Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church Gallery is showcasing the work of Rancho Peñasquitos artist Kathryn Peterson through the end of February. The exhibit, titled One Hundred Years of Women, includes 50 of Kathryn’s pieces. The artwork represents her six women-centered themes: action, strength, intelligence, adaptability, vulnerability, and ancestors. She works in a broad variety of mediums, including watercolors, collages, oils, pastels, Styrofoam dinner plates, and wearable dresses made from recycled plastic grocery bags. The exhibit is open daily with free admission.

The following month, Kathryn will be taking part in a joint exhibit with six other award-winning female artists at Poway Center for the Performing Arts. Off the Pedestal will run Feb. 27 through March 30, and the center is open Tuesdays through Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 858-668-4693 to confirm hours on performance days.
