Ed Brown Center Participates in Ridesharing Pilot Program
On the Go
92127’s Ed Brown Center is partnering with Jewish Family Service to test-pilot the organization’s On the Go program. On the Go aims to connect older adults with ridesharing services to help them access health and wellness programs, easing mobility and transportation barriers that can make it difficult for older adults to travel. On the Go calls on local volunteers to provide group shuttles and door-to-door rides, as well as offering premium and on-demand services for older adults.
“Ed Brown Center in Rancho Bernardo is an important destination for older adults in San Diego, and we work hard to make the center programs accessible through a variety of transportation options for our members,” said Meredith Morgenroth, Jewish Family Service Senior Director of Social and Wellness. “We are honored to implement this pilot program and hope that other senior centers will be able to learn from it to expand their transportation options for older adults.”
The Ed Brown Center is one of three senior centers throughout the country partnering with Jewish Family Service for the pilot program, which is part of a partnership with Lyft and the National Council on Aging. Ed Brown Center services include support groups, fitness classes, social activities, and health education, among others.
